School Bike Education
CS = E provides a condensed Bike Education and Safety session for schools. The session introduces school kids of all ages to the knowledge and skills required to ride safely in traffic and non-traffic environments.
The educational, interactive session is delivered by Cycling Australia accredited Coaches in a fun, learning environment. The session is generally 45 – 90 minutes and focuses on the three key components of bike safety:
Preparing to ride
- understanding your bike
- basic bike check
- helmet and equipment check
Understanding how to ride
- identifying the skills of riding
- rules and etiquette of riding on paths and roads
Improving your riding
- skill development
- fitness
The session is conducted with a ratio of 15 kids to an instructor for the practical components. A small number of bikes and helmets are provided, however, kids are encouraged to bring their own bikes and helmets for the session.
Please note: If required, presentations/sessions can be modified to suit individual school needs. Shorter sessions are available that focus on specific components or areas that may be considered a priority.
