Tour de Valley

The Tour de Valley is a cycling time trial event featuring the 2012 Queensland Elite, Under 19 and Masters Individual Time Trial Championships. It will be conducted in the beautiful Currumbin Valley, utilising the course proposed for the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Riders follow Currumbin Creek on a flat to undulating return journey through the lush, scenic countryside. Passing the hidden attractions scattered throughout the Valley, riders will experience the idyllic nature of an area that has retained its own unique identity within close proximity to the beautiful beaches of the Gold Coast.
The event caters for both competitive cyclists from Junior Under 19 to Masters as well as any cyclist just wanting to test themselves over the course. Distances range from 36km for the full course with shorter distances conducted for Women, Masters and Junior championship categories. Supporters, spectators and the general public can enjoy the festive atmosphere of the event precinct that showcases the local community.

Course Description
The course proceeds along Galleon Way to the T intersection at Currumbin Creek Road. Riders then turn right into Currumbin Creek Road and continue along this road to their respective turn-a-round points as follows:
15km: located 1km west of the Village Way (The Ecovillage) intersection (Olsen’s Bird Gardens)
18km: located at the intersection of Fordyce Close (Crystal Cottage)
27km: located at the intersection of Braewood Drive
36km: located at the entrance to Camp Eden Health Retreat
Riders then return along Currumbin Creek Road before turning left into Galleon Way to continue to the race finish located opposite the Elanora Community Centre.
