Tomewin Mountain Challenge

Sunday August 26 2012 – The Ecovillage, Currumbin

The Tomewin Mountain Challenge is a testing 22km road running event that takes in the beautiful Currumbin Valley and the scenic Mount Tomewin on an out and back course that starts and finishes at The Ecovillage. Competitors have the novelty of turning around at the Queensland/NSW border before making the less arduous return journey down the mountain.

The event is aimed at runners of all abilities who are looking for a challenge in a friendly, supportive environment. Options are available for individuals or two and three person teams. The winners of the event are crowned the King and Queen of Tomewin and receive a lasting memento of their achievement that showcases the Currumbin Valley.

The event enjoyed enormous success in its first year in 2011 and has been expanded to include a 6km ‘Highland Hurry’ and a 1km Family Fun Run that raises funds for Duchennes Muscular Dystrophy, all conducted within the confines of The Ecovillage.

The event precinct at The Ecovillage will host festivities aimed at showcasing the local businesses and attractions of the Currumbin Valley and Mount Tomewin.

The 2012 Tomewin Mountain Challenge will be held on the Sunday 26th of August 2012. For further details, please visit Tomewin Mountain Challenge
